Ashley McKarney has over 9 years of experience specializing in Human Resources, Leadership, Organizational Development and Business Management in a variety of industries including; non-profit, finance, retail and a publicly traded service organization. Throughout her career, Ashley has built comprehensive Human Resource functions, coached leaders, managed employee relations and worked with senior executives to increase engagement and strategize organizational growth. Ashley is a CPHR Candidate and holds her Bachelor of Commerce Degree with a Major in Entrepreneurship and Small Business and Minors in Human Resources and Strategic Management and Organization.

Ashley fell in love with DisruptHRYEG over the past 2 years working as a volunteer and is now ecstatic to be the Chief Disruptor leading the charge in Edmonton.

Ashley founded Involvi Consulting with the goal of working with engaged leaders and business owners to improve their HR practices, provide them with ongoing expert support and to support their employees to improve working conditions and organizational culture.

Brianna Madron

A fervent HR professional by day and self-proclaimed food connoisseur by night, Brianna is known for putting everything she has into everything she does. Having received her Bachelor of Commerce degree from MacEwan University, majoring in Human Resource Management, Brianna’s combination of theoretical and practical experience ensures that she consistently provides top-notch HR solutions for her clients.

Brianna is passionate about analyzing organizational potential with a goal of increasing the bottom-line, by shifting the perspective to the wellbeing of employees and culture. She takes a progressive and strategic HR approach that includes but exceeds traditional administrative duties, while applying HR principles and practices to benefit an organization’s overall strategy.

Beyond her day-to-day work, Brianna is an active community member. She has been a core DisruptHRYEG volunteer since 2017, a Junior Achievement volunteer Mentor since 2019, as well as an active MacEwan Alumni, volunteering and supporting in a variety of events.

Alana Chan

If there is one belief that underlines Alana’s passion for HR, it is bringing together the balance between people and business. Passionately curious, Alana is a dynamic, engaging HR professional bringing strategic guidance and progressive solutions to equip your operations with best practices.

Alana has earned trust from both businesses and people through her dedication for building an inclusive, diverse and engaged culture while delivering results. Whether you are a small or large organization, union or non-unionized environment, Alana has a well-rounded scope of all facets and functions of HR, specializing in full employee life-cycle support, rewards & recognition programs, investigations and discipline and data analytics.

Alana attended DisruptHRYEG’s first event back in 2016 and has been a proud core Disrupt volunteer from then on! While she is not driving HR strategies and disrupting HR norms, Alana is a bonafide foodie, outdoors adventurer avid rock climber and silk aerialist.
